                                   Meet Javonn

 

Javonn Started working for Martin’s Super Markets in 2018 as a deli associate at the Erskine Plaza location in South Bend. He moved his way up in the department and became a night supervisor. After gaining experience as a supervisor, he took over as leader of the department's Smokehouse. Soon after, Javonn entered the Deli Management Training Program where he learned how to run a deli department. He currently is the Assistant Deli Manager at the Plymouth, IN location. Javonn enjoys making a product for customers, knowing that it meets their needs. He hopes to keep moving up within the company and see where it takes him.
 

                                  Meet Carrie

 

Carrie started working at Martin’s Super Markets in 2006 at our Logansport, IN location. She started as a janitor part-time and enjoyed her flexible hours as a mother with two young sons. Carrie spent eleven years in this role before transitioning to a full-time Customer Service Manager. She met many employees and customers while working as a janitor and felt equipped with management support and employee support to take on the Customer Service Manager role. In 2018, Carrie also became the Human Resource Coordinator. Sharing a dual management title at the store led Carrie to learn many things that would help her continue moving up in the company. In September of 2020, Carrie took on her biggest role yet as Assistant Store Director. “I could not have done this without the great guidance from past Store Directors: Tony DeCloedt, Shawn Marrow, and most notably, Kathy Hall.”
                                  Meet Matt

 

Matt started as a stocker at our Jackson Blvd. location in Elkhart. It was a part-time job for him while employed as a wine salesperson. The store soon transferred Matt to the meat department, where he found his true supermarket calling. He became part of a meat apprenticeship that Martin’s offers and made meat cutting his new career. Matt worked at the South Bend Ave. location as a meat cutter before moving to Martin’s on Bittersweet to become the Assistant Meat Manager. Later, Matt went back to his roots at the Jackson St. location to take on the Meat Manager's role. Matt enjoys the new challenges a retail management role brings. He pushes himself every day to bring innovative ideas in selling products and increasing sales for his department and store. Working hard and becoming the best manager possible is what Matt thrives on doing. His goal is to keep climbing the ladder of success until he becomes a Store Director.
